This song is for Jack. Jack is my hero. Jack was born in to abject poverty between the Wars and joined the Army after a couple of rejections as he was too young. Jack served in Italy and helped the Italian Resistance by giving them diesel that he had skimmed from the jerry cans that he used to fill the British tracks with and was a local legend in San Daniele. He met Giulia and they moved to UK to set up home after the War.
